Product Description

Alcohol Hydrometer Set 0–100% ABV — 3-Piece Glass Set with Thermometer & Wooden Box

Measure alcohol content accurately across the full 0–100% range with this professional 3-piece set. Each hydrometer covers a specific sub-range for finer precision — paired with a glass thermometer for temperature compensation, so your readings are accurate regardless of liquid temperature.

Why a 3-Piece Set?

A single hydrometer covering 0–100% would have very coarse scale markings. This set uses three hydrometers with overlapping sub-ranges, giving you finer graduations and more accurate readings at every alcohol level:

  • Low range (e.g. 0–40% ABV) — for wines, beers, and low-alcohol ferments
  • Mid range (e.g. 40–70% ABV) — for spirits and distillates
  • High range (e.g. 70–100% ABV) — for high-proof spirits and industrial alcohol

Typical Use Cases

  • Home distilling & craft spirits: Verify ABV of your distillate at each cut — heads, hearts, and tails — for consistent blending.
  • Winemaking & brewing: Check fermentation progress and final alcohol content before bottling.
  • Industrial & pharmaceutical: Verify ethanol concentration in cleaning solutions, sanitizers, or chemical formulations.
  • Laboratory use: Accurate alcohol measurement for research, formulation, or quality control.
  • Gifting: The wooden box presentation makes this a practical gift for home brewers, distillers, or lab professionals.

How to Read the Hydrometer

  1. Pour the liquid into a tall cylinder so the hydrometer floats freely without touching the sides.
  2. Allow the hydrometer to settle and stop spinning.
  3. Read the scale at the bottom of the meniscus (curved liquid surface) at eye level.
  4. Check the thermometer reading — if the liquid is not at 20°C (68°F), apply a temperature correction using the chart included with the set.
  5. The corrected reading is your alcohol content in % ABV.

Note: Hydrometers measure alcohol by density. They work accurately on pure alcohol-water mixtures. Sugars, extracts, or other dissolved solids in unfermented or partially fermented liquids will affect the reading.
